New Staff Changes at Kingsholm Surgery June 2017

Our new Advance Nurse Practitioner (ANP) Annmarie Bailey has been working since February 2017 and has settled in well and is proving popular with those who see her. However, we are not using all of her appointments up. She can see all urgent problems apart from: children under the age of 2, pregnancy related issues, patients who have recently seen a doctor with the same problem and mental health issues. We hope that getting most patients to see her will free up more doctor time to deal with complex problems and routine appointments. If Annmarie cannot help you then, she will ensure you are seen promptly by a doctor. In the next few weeks we will be asking the receptionists to make sure that Annmarie’s appointments are all booked up before they give out GP appointments.

Brad Salter, our new Mental Health Clinician is also proving popular. If you have problems such as depression and anxiety, stress or bereavement you will be able to see Brad here in the surgery on a Tuesday or speak to him over the phone.

This does mean that when/if you ring to make an urgent/emergency appointment our receptionists will ask you some questions to try and make sure that you see the right person as quickly as possible. Please note that our receptionist are trained about patient confidentiality and will treat whatever you tell them as being strictly confidential

Our new community pharmacist, Audrey Ghanney, has started working in the practice. She will be able to assist us with repeat medication prescribing, medication reviews and updating medicines after discharge from hospital. She may contact you to let you know what medication changes we are planning or have completed.

We hope that these extra members of staff will allow us to put more routine GP appointments on our system, driving down the waiting time to see a GP.
