NurseOur experienced Practice Nurses have specialist training and experience to treat a wide range of medical conditions. They also assist our doctors with reviewing and managing patients with a chronic medical condition such as diabetes, asthma and COPD. Our Nurse Practitioner is qualified to prescribe medications, our other nurses can issue a prescription signed by one of our doctors. Our nurses appointments are not currently available online so please contact our reception team to book an appointment. Read more for information about our nursing team…
RoutineAvailable from 2 days to 3 months in advance these can be used for; new problems that are not urgent, reviews of ongoing medical problems, medication reviews, chronic disease reviews, blood pressure checking, contraception, HRT, sick notes etc. These appointments last for 10 minutes.
UrgentEvery day we hold back some appointments that are only bookable on the day. Morning appointments are released at 08:30 am and afternoon appointments at 2:00 pm. These are for people who feel so unwell that they need to be seen the same day. The appointments last for 10 minutes.
EmergencyIf all the routine appointments have gone and you have a problem that cannot wait until the next surgery then you may be offered an emergency appointment. These are only 5 minutes long.
TelephoneSometimes, if you have a problem that can be dealt over the telephone, you will be booked a telephone appointment. These are usually dealt with at the end of surgery i.e. between 11:45 and 3 pm or after 6pm. It is possible that the doctor may be able to phone before this time, so it is important that you answer your phone at any time after a telephone appointment has been booked. If the doctor has tried to phone you and got no reply then they will not phone again.
